The hotels in Rota were awarded by TUI for sustainability

Last 11 September we received an email where, TUI the biggest holiday tour operator worldwide informed us that the Hotel Duque de Nájera and the Hotel Playa de la Luz, managed by Mr. Juan Sañudo Márquez and belonging to the chain of Hoteles Andaluces con Encanto (HACE), had been awarded positions 28 and 73, respectively, in a selection of 100 chosen hotels from more than 7,500 hotels and apartments that are currently sold worldwide by the brand: Word of TUI. The TUI Umwelt Champion 2009 award, is a special distinction presented by TUI to associate hotels, for sustainability achievements in the hotel industry.

As winners of this prestigious award, our hotels are distinguished with the title TUI Umwelt Champion in national summer catalogues 2010/11. There is no better guarantee for clients booking their holidays than to know that these hotels are the most environmentally-friendly, which is how visitors from TUI have rated these hotels.

This year, as an innovation for the presentation of our candidacy, an Organic Garden was created on the premises of the Hotel Playa de la Luz, which supplies the buffet of the Hotel Playa de la Luz and next season will also supply the Buffet of the Hotel Duque de Nájera, with organic produce to create some of the typical dishes from the region. This garden has been cared for by the children staying at our hotel during the summer season. They water and pick the produce which they then personally take to the kitchen to be prepared. We would like to thank the personnel of both Hotels for their involvement in this project, as without their valuable help we would never have been able to carry out this project.
