Brussels Airlines are studying connections with Jerez

This week we received a visit from a group of Belgian company directors, headed by François Lagae, vice president of Brussels Airlines. The group were on a professional trip to the province of Cadiz, organised by the Cadiz Regional Tourist Board and the HACE group (Hoteles Andaluces con Encanto) were also supported in this venture by Turespaña and Turismo Andaluz. The Belgian executives come from companies such as BMW, SIEMENS and Institutions such as the European Commission.

The Belgian Ambassador in Spain, Johan Swinnen, travelled to the Hotel Villa Jerez to welcome the group, along with Jan De Clerck, Chairman of Hoteles Andaluces con Encanto who was the driving force behind the trip with the support of the Tourist Board, and other promotional bodies.

The Vice President of Brussels Airlines, Francis Lagae, highlighted the commitment of the company to the region and did not dismiss the possibility of making new links with Jerez de la Frontera beyond from the Brussels-Seville connection which will be in operation all throughout this winter.

This has been a tremendous opportunity to promote Belgian tourism in the province, which figures amongst the ten most visited frequent visitors by nationality (22,000 visitors in 2008). During the programme the group visited the cities of Jerez, Cadiz and Rota, experiencing the province's cultural tourism, apart from the sun and beach and encouraging these top executives to view the province as a location for meetings, conventions and incentives.
